Trials in Tainted Space — čeština

The player character and Victor Steele's heir. The given name, ancestry, body and gender presentation are player-selected or can change; use the current scene's runtime name, pronouns and anatomy rather than assigning a fixed gender. Refer to the character by surname or a neutral construction when a variable is unavailable.

The deceased founder of Steele Tech and Captain Steele's father, whose recorded instructions begin the inheritance hunt. Main-story references use he/him and father; his long history of body modification must not be mistaken for the player's variable gender.

Captain Steele's rival cousin and Maximilian's child. The selected rival is Jack (male, he/him) or Jill (female, she/her); both names exist in the setting, but only the chosen cousin fills the rival role in a playthrough. Preserve the runtime branch instead of using one fixed form.

Victor's brother, Captain Steele's uncle and the rival cousin's father. He is male (he/him) and is chiefly referred to in the inheritance plot rather than addressed in a regular encounter; 'Uncle Max' refers to the same person.

An ausar scientist and Steele Tech merchant on Tarkus who can join the crew. She is female (she/her), Syri's older twin sister, and a playful but technically accomplished engineer; 'Anno' and 'Dr. Anno Erane Dorna' identify the same character.

An ausar engineer, veteran and competitive gamer first met on Mhen'ga; she is Anno's younger twin sister. Syri is female (she/her); her penis does not make masculine pronouns appropriate.

A kui-tan space pirate and captain of the Blade who may become close to Steele. She is female (she/her); her hermaphroditic anatomy does not change her pronouns. Keep 'Kiro' distinct from her sister Kally.

A kaithrit bounty hunter encountered in the Myrellion storyline and Victor Steele's daughter, hence Captain Steele's half-sister. She is female (she/her); her relationship with Steele can vary with player choices.

A kaithrit smuggler and captain who draws Steele into conflict with Shade and the Black Void. Kara is female (she/her), despite hermaphroditic anatomy; her crew and story outcomes vary by choice.

The nyrean ruler of a subterranean Myrellion settlement whose palace contains a Steele Tech probe. Taivra is female (she/her) under nyrean social categories; preserve her queenly title and do not infer gender from her ovipositor.

A galotian goo being introduced in the tutorial who may become a crewmate. Celise is female (she/her), though her species is described as mono-gendered; keep her identity distinct from generic gray-goo encounters.

Sera Landon, the female (she/her) demon-morph proprietor of The Dark Chrysalis on Tavros Station. She sells gene-modification items and may become a crewmate; her hermaphroditic anatomy does not imply male pronouns.

A female (she/her) fox-modded peacekeeper met on Mhen'ga. Her anatomy may change through player choices, but this is separate from her female identity; 'Officer Penny' refers to the same person.

A female (she/her) bovine-modded human veteran whom Steele can recruit from Beth's Busty Broads. Later body changes are conditional; preserve her identity and distinguish her from generic New Texas cowgirls.

A female (she/her) raskvel inventor and shopkeeper at the Widget Warehouse in Novahome who can join the crew. Her anatomy can change, but her identity does not; 'GadgetGirl' is an alias.

A female (she/her) suula xenobiologist and mother whom Steele can recruit for field research. Her hermaphroditic anatomy is not a pronoun cue; keep her scientific role distinct from a generic merchant.

A configurable JoyCo android recovered from Tarkus. The chosen model is Bess-13 (female, she/her) or Ben-14 (male, he/him); follow the configured model and current name rather than treating both as simultaneous crew members.

A recruitable deertaur. Supporting crew material uses she/her for Amber; preserve her individual identity rather than treating the species description as a pronoun rule.

A female (she/her) alpha dzaan rescued from the Zhèng Shi Foundry Lounge who can join Steele's crew. Keep Ardia distinct from her mother Arine and preserve conditional recruitment outcomes.

Deziere d’Alysio, also known as Raskalia, is a female (she/her) kaithrit and Bizzy's mother. Her possible ship-cook or nursery role depends on the storyline; preserve the alias used in the current scene.
